We welcome the news that O&H Developers have pulled out from the Eco-Town protest – the case for an ecotown never made any sense. This is a victory for local people combining together to defend their communities and way of life.
But we must not lower our guard. O&H haven’t gone away and they may simply replace their ecotown proposal with a new town proposal. However that would have to go through the normal planning process and we would resist yet another attempt to concrete over Bedfordshire. We will keep a close eye on O&H.
So MMETAG isn’t going away either. On April 18th we are hosting a conference which will give local people the opportunity to design their own vision of what the Marston Vale should look like in 2050 – our vision and not a developers.
Our sincerest thanks to all who have supported us in the campaign.
Hugh Roberts
MMETAG Chairman
This is great news!
Yes, O & H won’t be going away but at least the planning process for any further proposals will need to be thorough and follow normal protocol. Let’s hope it takes them a while!
We will definately be at the meeting in April.
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to MMETAG for representing the views of us local people and for presenting these in such an organised way that has led to the defeat of these proposals.
when’s the party in the village hall that Nadine promised??!
Many thanks to you all again for your dedication and comittment.
