Here we go again – Milton Keynes seeks to include Marston Moretaine in new MK Metropolitan area

Consultation open until Friday 17th April 2020

Milton Keynes is developing its MK2050 vision to grow the new town into a 500,000 population city. Having already last year approved expansion across the M1 at junction 14 they are now seeking to cement an ‘east MK’ to take in Cranfield. In addition a South East MK to cross over Junction 13 M1 and swallow up Brogborough, Lidlington and Marston Moretaine.

The second link takes you to their assessments of the planned expansion
areas if you chose Growth Options Assessment:
This is of course long term planning. However – MMAG, informed by Parish
residents has always warned of the dangers of coalescence between MK and
Bedford. The large scale development planned:
   1. Through Wooton and Stewartby by Bedford Borough with
   2. Central Bedfordshire’s commitment to the Marston Valley new town
   3. The ARC concept and associated use of the existing A421 to be a mini
motorway Oxford to Cambridge and now
   4. MK’s plans to cross the M1 completely between J13 and 14
….will deliver exactly what local people have said they do not want – being
subsumed into a large scale urban environment.
Whether concerned or supportive of the plans by MK you can feed into their
