Photo Competition – Terms and Conditions

MMETAG – “MMETAG means the current core members of MMETAG as set out on the website

The MMETAG Landscape Photo Competition is open to everyone except those involved in its organisation, and/or judging.

Entries must be emailed to including entrant details of Name, Address, Telephone Number, Age (if 16 or under) and description of where/or of what the image is depicting. Entries will then be displayed on the  website.

The cut off date for receiving entries is 12:00 noon on 22/03/09. Visitors to the website will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite image commencing 23/03/09 till 12:00 noon 29/03/09. The images that receive the greatest number of votes during that period will shortlisted as finalists.

Entries must depict the Marston Vale area.

Images that have won an award in a nationally promoted competition – or that have been entered in such a competition where the results are still pending – are not eligible for entry.

Only one entry per person.

By submitting images to The MMETAG Landscape Photo Competition each entrant confirms and warrants that:
• they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work
• they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image
• they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by MMETAG
• They have received any necessary permissions from people and the owner(s) of buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by MMETAG will indemnify MMETAG against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.

Images must have been taken using a camera with a sufficiently high resolution to allow the image to be reproduced at A4 size or above (at 300 dpi) should the entry be shortlisted as a finalist. We recommend using a camera of 4 mega pixels or more and use the highest resolution setting available.

Finalists will be contacted and asked to supply a high resolution image (if not already submitted). Failure to produce a high resolution file of the correct size within a designated time period will eliminate an entrant from the shortlist.

Finalists’ images will then be enlarged and displayed in an Exhibition at the Forest Centre between 06/04/09 and 18/04/09.

Digital adjustments, including High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging techniques, are allowed. The integrity of the image must be maintained and the making of physical changes to the landscape is not permitted (removing fences, moving trees, stripping in sky from another image etc). MMETAG reserve the right to disqualify any image that they feel lacks authenticity due to over-manipulation.

Please ensure that you keep copies of submitted images. MMETAG will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safe storage and back-up of entries, but cannot be held responsible for exceptional circumstances – including Acts of God.

MMETAG reserves the right to remove any entries from the competition that it feels may breach or contravene laws of public decency or may bring the photographer into disrepute. Such entries will be deemed as void.

MMETAG’s decision shall be final

By entering the competition, you grant MMETAG and its sponsors and supporters a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media the images for any purpose connected with the competition. This may include – but is not limited to:
